Years ago when I was a Montessori teacher, I began leading summer art camps for children.  My love of teaching art lead me to offer adult classes as well, and they were hugely successful.  Since then I have facilitated multiple classes of all genres with one main thread - CREATIVITY UNLEASHED.  From small venues and private residences to The Cameron Art Museum, Museum School, my workshops and classes have been widely received across the Southeast, touted as energetic, fun, and inspiring, and best of all - no rules!  Having been an avid art journal keeper for many years, I often weave this into classes, as well as all kinds of mixed media and collage, and even some plaster and book making!

'forest blues' 2 day cyanotype retreat  - Blue Ridge Mountains - This will be offered again in 2023!  Stay tuned for details.

During this two day-small group retreat we will experiment with both traditional and wet cyanotypes, beginning with a meditation and a walk in the forest to collect natural elements for printing.  Following an introduction to cyanotypes, and a live demo, participants will begin creating their own unique cyanotypes using prepared paper in a variety of sizes and texture.

We will create a small hand stitched journal with Fabriano Artistico mixed media paper that we will dye with natural pigments for the inside pages. (Pre-made small batch walnut ink, acorn ink, onion skin bath, and avocado bath will be available). The cover will be a chosen cyanotype to adorn the journal.

In addition, we will make forest art on loose canvas- (details are a surprise), a small piece of art on a plaster covered substrate using image transfers from the cyanotypes, a collaborative mandala in nature, and a small piece of cyanotype fabric.
